Biography
Luis Lopez Del Castillo was born in December ,1976 in Camaguey, Cuba. He studied at the Vocational Arts School and at The Fine Arts Academy where he Graduate in 2001.He was a member of ‘’the 16’’,sixteen young artists that were selected to the show ‘’Projecto Personal’’at Centro de desarrollo de las Artes,Havana,Cuba.(2002) A year later he did his first solo show at Gallery Plaza Vieja de la Casona,Havana,Cuba.
He was an ‘’Artist on Residence’’ in Spazio Xpo & Liz,Milano.Italy.(2003-2004) where He also exhibit on several group art shows,and a solo show ‘’Pinturas’’ at Pallazzo Rossetti,Chieti,Italy(2005).
He arrives to Miami,Florida,and shows his paintings at EDGE ZONES Art Fair during Art Basel/Art Miami (2006-2007) as well as ‘’Arte de Cuba’’ group show in Toronto, Canada.(2009) recently he was at ‘’Cuban enhancement’ ‘a group show at The Mob Museum, as Vegas, Nevada.(2014).and was part of the group Show ‘’Resilience,the other Cuba.’’Minneapolis ,mn,USA.(2015). Semifinalist los Angeles paintings (2018)Triennial of Latin american art ,New York.(2019). Awards as first prize at ‘’Joel Porto’’ salon and third prize at the drawing Biennial, Cuba, Mention on Fidelio Ponce De Leon Salon. Lives and works between Miami and Las Vegas.
